JCP Border Kasur

The Joint Check Post (JCP) at Ganda Singh Wala, Kasur, constructed in 1959, holds historical significance as it was built for the Joint Flag Hosting Ceremony. It is located 18 km from Kasur and 9 km from Ferozpur (India) on the Lahore-Ferozpur road, this site was a bustling gateway to India until 1986. Lahore to ganda singh border distance is about 47 KM. During that time, buses regularly travelled between Pakistan and India through this checkpoint. 

Flag Lowering ceremony

Today, the daily Flag Lowering Ceremony attracts many visitors who come to witness the impressive display by soldiers (Pak Rangers solders and BSF solders) from both sides. This ceremony has made the Ganda Singh border a popular tourist attraction and a great picnic spot. Timing for prade/ Flag lowering ceremony is same as Wahga border Lahore which is before evening. On special occasions like Eid, Independence Day etc., a large number of people come here to watch the parade and there is a huge rush of people.

While the border crossing at Ganda Singh Wala is now closed, it was the principal road crossing between India and Pakistan during the 1960s and 1970s. The crossing was later replaced by the more famous Wagah border crossing, located a bit further north. In 2005, there were discussions about reopening the Ganda Singh border, but it has remained closed.

Since 1970, a daily Flag lowering Ceremony, similar to the one at Wahga border Lahore, has taken place at this point. The ceremony consist of drills and the lowering of the flags by soldiers from both countries. This event attracts many spectators who come to enjoy the patriotic fervour and the impressive military display. 

There is a large area for Parking and sitting area so that people can enjoy ceremony.

History of Ganda Singh

Ganda Singh Wala is a village in the Kasur District of Punjab, Pakistan. It is situated on the border with India, directly opposite the Indian village of Hussainiwala, near Firozpur. The village of Ganda Singh Wala is named after Ganda Singh Datt, a soldier who lived from 1830 to 1903. His legacy continues to be remembered in the region, adding a historical dimension to the area. On the opposite side in India, there is a Water Head ganda singh which can be seen from village Ganda Singh from pakistan side
