قصور: تاریخی محلات کا شہر ضلع قصور کا نام قصور شہر کے نام پر رکھا گیا اور یہی قدیم شہر اس ضلع کا صدر مقام بھی ہے، ضلع کا درجہ حاصل کرنے سے پہلے یہ لاہور کی ایک تحصیل تھا۔ یکم جولائی 1976کو ضلع لاہور سے تحصیل قصور کو علیحدہ کرکے ضلع کا درجہ دے دیا گیا، ضلع قصور کی تاریخ جاننے سے پہلے قصور شہر کی تاریخی حیثیت کا ادراک بہت ضروری ہے۔ قصور کا لفظ عربی زبان کے لفظ قصر کی جمع ہے جس کے معنی محل ہے، قصور شہر کو سب سے پہلے پٹھان امرا نے آباد کیا اور یہاں پر اپنے خاندانوں کی رہائش کے لئے علیحدہ علیحدہ قلعہ نما محل بنا لئے، انہی محلات کی وجہ سے قصور کا نام معرض وجود میں آیا ۔یہ محلات بعد میں کوٹ کے نام سے مشہور ہوئے۔ بہت سے کوٹ اب بھی انہی پرانے ناموں کے ساتھ موجود ہیں مثلاً کوٹ حلیم خاں ، کوٹ فتح دین خاں ، کوٹ عثمان خاں ، کوٹ غلام محمد خاں، کوٹ رکن دین خاں ، کوٹ مراد خاں ، کوٹ اعظم خاں ، کوٹ بدردین خاں ، کوٹ پیراں ، کوٹ بڈھا ، کوٹ میربازخاں ، کوٹ شیربازخاں ، دھوڑکوٹ ، روڈ کوٹ اور کوٹ علی گڑھ وغیرہ قابل ذکر ہیں۔ تاریخ ایک اندازے کے مطابق قصور پہلی صدی عیسوی میں ایک بڑا قصبہ بن چکا تھا ، 533ء ...
