KASUR: Unknown armed men gunned down Maqsood Ahmed Bhatti, local politician of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) and his three guards on Saturday, ARY news reported.
According to reports unidentified miscreants near Kasur toll plaza on the boundary of Lahore and Kasur in Punjab opened fire on the car of PTI leader’s killing him along with his three personal guards on the spot.
Meanwhile, a passerby, who was injured by the erratic firing, later succumbed to his wounds as well. The dead bodies were moved to Jinnah Hospital Lahore for postmortem.
Police officers informed that the killing was the result of longstanding rivalry.
In another incident, Noman, son of PTI’s women wing president of its Lahore chapter Neelam Ashraf, was found dead in his car earlier in the day.
Law Minister of Punjab, Rana Sanaullah has taken the notice of the incident. Following DPO Kasur formed the committee to conduct raids for the arrest of culprits involved in the incidents.
