Head Balloki (ہیڈ بلوکی) is located at Phool Nagar (also called
Bhai Pehru بھائی پھیرو) in the area of PS Siraye Mughal Tehsil
Pattoki district Kasur. Balloki headworks is situated on Ravi river (دریائے راوی). It is about 64 km from Lahore. To reach there, You may use GT
road from Lahore. This is an important headworks on the Ravi River and it was part of
the Triple Canal Project during the British rule in 1915.
Head Balloki is very important for agriculture, storing
around 6,900 cusecs of water and providing irrigation to the surrounding areas
of Kasur, Okara, Pakpattan, Sahiwal, Vahari and Khanewal.
History:
Two canals, the Sulaimanki Link Canal and the Lower Bari
Canal, originate from this headworks. The main purpose of the headworks was to supply
water to the Lower Bari Doab Canal. After the Indus Agreement between Pakistan
and India, the water of the Ravi River came under the control of India. For its
management, the Upper Chenab Link canal was constructed to divert water from
the Chenab River to the Ravi River.
Head Baloki was the largest headworks in British India, a
1,647-foot-long headworks with steel gates to control the water level in the Ravi
River. In 2017, the Baloki Power Station was built to help meet the country's
electricity needs.
A perfect place for a picnic
Balloki headworks is a great destination for day trips,
especially in spring or winter. It is also a great place for winter fishing.
Several fish shops offer fresh fish from the Ravi River. Along the canal,
fishing lovers can enjoy their hobby with valid fishing licenses, and day
licenses are available on site.
Boating is a popular activity on the Ravi River near Head Balloki.
Colourful boats line up just before the main site, offering a pleasant
experience on a nice day.

Rana Safari Park and Resort.
After crossing the Head Balloki Bridge, you will find Rana
Safari Park and Resort also called Head Balloki park. Rana resort head Balloki is
actually in the boundary of district Lahore. This park is spread over 214 acres
and has a bamboo forest, home to peacocks and deer in their natural habitat.
The park also includes a small zoo with various birds and ostriches. Families
can enjoy recreational activities, safaris and sports such as badminton, tennis
and football. Hunting is allowed with a valid permit. There is a fee to enter
the park, except for disabled people, seniors and teachers.
Greenfields Country Club.
Another great venue near Head balloki is Greenfields Country
Club. The venue offers a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, including
horseback riding, swimming, boating, billiards and board games. The club
charges a fee for all-day activities, including lunch and tea.
