Introduction:

Waseem Akhtar Sheikh (وسیم اختر شیخ) son of Haji Muhammad Yasin was born on January 02, 1964 in Kasur. He belongs to Sheikh family of Kasur city. His educational qualification is BA. He is one of loyal worker of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) in Kasur district.

Family Background

His son Saad Waseem Sheikh is also a politician and a elected as MNA on PMLN ticket. After 2013 elections, Saad Waseem Sheikh son of Waseem Sheikh is participating in elections 2018 and 2024 in place of his father. Saad won elections of National assembly in 2018 and 2024 and become MNA.

Political career

• Wasim Akhtar Sheikh started his political carrier in 1998 and elected as Councillor and then Chairman of Kasur Municipality.
• He elected as Member National Assembly (MNA) in 2008 from NA-139 Kasur-II on PML(N) Ticket by defeating Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmad of PPPP.
• He was re-elected as MNA from the same constituency in 2013 on PMLN ticket and defeated his old rival Chaudhary Manzoor Ahmed of PPPP.
• He served as member in Standing Committees of National Assembly for Textile, Environment and NAPRA during 2008-2013
• He has also been the President PMLN Lahore Division.
