Kasur Politics in 2013 : Kasur has played an important role in the National politics. Our two important personalities Mian Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri and Sardar Asif Ahmed Ali. worked as Foreign Ministers of Pakistan. Mr Mueen Qureshi, former care taker Prime Minister also born at Kasur district. 15th Chief Minister of Punjab, Late Sardar Arif Nakai was also from Kasur district. Several ladies of kasur district have been recognised at international level one of them is Dr Salma Rashid. Surely in future Kasur district will play much more important role and our district should get its proper share at national level that should also transfer to the citizens.
Basically Kasur is usually known as Party base area but there are also many famous Political Personalities.
If we talk about City Kasur (NA 139) then PML-N is in very Strong position in this area.The Second Leading Party is PPPP but PPPP is Famous in this area because of Ch Manzoor Ahmad (Candidate for MNA NA 139).Ch Manzoor Ahmad is very famous among the people of City Kasur.
PPP candidate Ch Manzoor Ahmad won from here in 2002 but he lost to Waseem Akhtar Sheikh of PMLN in 2008.
The Third Leading Party is PTI.PTI candidate Sardar M.Husain Doggar is also a very famous Personailty.
The rivalry between Kasuri family and Sardar Asif Ahmad Ali is very famous here and they have been contesting against each other since 1988. Khurshid Mohammad Kasuri and his father were in PMLN and Asif Ahmad Ali in PPP in 90s however both left their parties. Asif Ahmad Ali decided to join PTI in 2011 and Khursheed Kasuri joined PMLQ in 2002 and later on in 2011 he joined Pakistan tehreek e Insaf.
In 2002 Khurshid Kasuri lost from here but he was elected from NA 140 Kasur I.

The second reason of leaving the PPP was the seat adjustment which the party had made with PML(Q) leader Dr. Azeem Uddin Lakhwi in NA-140. Local political pandit Hafiz Ahmed said it was a big change in the politics of District Kasur that Sardar Muhammad Hussain Dogar left the PPP and annouced to contest election aginst the PPP Ch Manzoor Ahmed. Dogar basically belonged to the constituency of NA-140 but he wanted to contest election from NA-139 against Ch Manzoor Ahmed.
In General Elections 2013 PPPP has faced a serious blow from PTI last week when its ticket holders and potential contestants from Kasur joined Pakistan tehreek e Insaf including Sardar Mohammad Hussain Dogar who is now a candidate of PTI from NA 139.

Hussain had developed some differences with his party member Ch Manzoor Ahmed due to which he left PPP and joined PTI to contest the election against fromer MNA Ch Manzoor Ahmed. KASUR, Nov 26: Several candidates including four former ministers filed their nomination papers before their respective returning officers here on Monday. A very tough contest is likely at NA-140 where Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has fielded former foreign minister Sardar Assef Ahmed Ali against former foreign minister Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-i-Azam (PML-Q).
However, a former minister belonging to PML-Q, Sardar Hassan Akhtar Mokal, has also decided to contest the elections against Mr Kasuri at this constituency as independent candidate after he was refused party ticket.
Dr. Azeemdin Lakhvi, who is son of former MNA Moeenudiin Lakhvi, be the PML-N candidate while other candidates include Barakullah Lakhvi, Sardar Haroon Ahmed, Mian Mukhtar Ahmed and Ahtesham Elahi Zaheer.
Mr Kasuri and Mr Mokal who were sailing the same boat in the last general elections are now opposing each other tooth and nail. Mr Kasuri has recently won the favours of a prominent local leader, Sardar Ashique Javid Dogar, who accompanied him while he was filing his nomination papers.
Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan of the PML-Q, Javid Hussain Baitto of the PML-N, Ch. Mukhtar Ahmed, Sardar Mushtaq, Ch. Barkat, Malik Younas, Malik Riaz, Haider Ali Chopra, Sardar Liaqat was contest for PP-179 in Elections 2013.
If we Talk abt PP 178,Then Malik Ahmad Saaed Khan and Brister Shahid Masood Khan are Favorite for next Elections as Brister Shahid Masood Khan got 17224 Votes as a Independent Candidate. Kamboh lost confidence of party’s high command a number of times in last few months as compared to Kazmi who is now emphatically being favoured by Sardar Assef. However, none of them has yet been awarded the PPP ticket.
Mr Kazmi and Mr Kamboh arrived separately in groups headed by Sardar Assef and Ch Manzoor to file their nomination papers and this made the rifts more vivid.
Besides Mr Kamboh and Mr Kazmi, Maqbool Sabir Ansari of the PML-Q, Naim Safdar Ansari of the PML-N, Haji Ghulam Ahmed Ansari, Javid Tufail Gujar, Gohar Inayat Ansari, Malik Bashir Ahmed, Ayaz Ahmed Khan, Muhammad Sarwar and Balqees Basit are the other hopefuls.
PML-Q is again in troubles at NA-139 after fielding Syeda Nelofer Mahdi as its candidate. She is believed to be more close to Pervaiz Elahi instead of Mr Kasuri.
Kasur Tehsil Nazim Agha Naveed Hashim Rizvi has resigned recently to contest the elections at NA-139 as independent candidate after he was not given preference over Nelofer.
Mr Rizvi is a turncoat as after winning the nazim slot with ARD’s support he defected to the PML-Q subsequently. Apparently, he is now avenging for being ignored in distribution of party tickets. Now Mr Kasuri is strongly supporting Mr Hashmi instead of party’s ticket holder Nelofar for this slot.
Sheikh Wasim Akhtar of the PML-N, Hafiz Muhammad Hanif Zafar of the JUI and Maqbool Sabir Ansari, an independent, are other aspirants at NA-139.
The PML-Q has fielded former federal minister Sardar Asif Nakai for NA-141 and the PPP has launched Ch. Noor Hussain while Rana Muhammad Ishaq is the PML-N candidate for the slot.
